ABOUT THE BOOK
So you’ve had a baby or babies or maybe they’re a little grown up. Either way, you’re a parent and this we know for sure; you love your kids…to death. And that is where we come in.
First, congratulations on having the toughest job on the planet. We truly understand all the emotions that come with the birth of a child. Your life becomes totally invested in this angelic little life, your energy spent on its welfare and happiness and nothing else in the world matters as long as this little, cute and cuddly bundle of joy is healthy and happy.
There is nothing in this world that you wouldn’t do and nothing you wouldn’t give to guarantee that your child grows up happy, healthy and excited about life, right? You are even ready to lay down your own life for the sake of this little angel that you have brought to this world. You feel joy like you have never felt before and deep down in your heart; you can’t imagine ever feeling anything but this immense unadulterated and unconditional love for your precious child.
But every loving relationship gets tested eventually. A little something called growth will happen, and all that cuteness will gradually be shrouded by crayon coated walls, messy rooms, questionable friends, distasteful habits and heaven forbid — deplorable love interests and even frightful career moves. It is inevitable that sooner than later, he or she will make choices that you will disagree with and decisions that you will be totally opposed to.
This will be the true test of your love for your child; not when everything is going the way you hoped, but when your child’s personal choices in life threaten to destroy the very foundation of your relationship. When those inevitable challenging years roll by, your true love for this soul you brought to earth, will either shine brightest or be found wanting.
When that happens, I hope that you will remember the joy and love you felt the first time you held your baby in your arms.
